Euro Motors has unveiled two new BMW models aimed at the young and young-at-heart as well as the high-flyer looking for a quality ride with all the latest technological aids to make driving a comfortable and safe experience.

The all-new BMW X1 joins the successful BMW X model portfolio marking another industry first in the compact Sports Activity Vehicle segment, while the new BMW X5 welcomes front and rear design changes and increased performance and efficiency.

The driving characteristics of the BMW X1 offer the perfect combination of supreme agility and sportiness with an appearance of a Sports Activity Vehicle and the agility of a BMW 1 Series. Available in Bahrain with two engine variants this five-door stands out from every angle as a BMW X model.

The BMW X1 xDrive25i has 218hp, reaching 100km/h in 7.9 seconds and a top speed of 223km/h.

Also available is the sporting and economic sDrive 18i, a 2.0 litre four cylinder engine with 150hp. Accelerating this agile performer from 0-100km/h takes just 10.4 seconds and provides a top speed of 200km/h.

The BMW X1 has a stable body structure designed for maximum occupant safety. It achieved the highest score of five stars in the Euro NCAP crash test. NCAP (New Car Assement Programme) is regarded as one of the most important and demanding tests required for new vehicles worldwide.

The price starts at BD14,995.

Paul Yates, general manager for Euro Motors, said: "Our BMW X5 and X6 are important and popular models, so we are delighted to be extending our X model range with introduction of the X1. This is an exciting, adventurous but agile model that will definitely attract a younger audience in this market.

"Also marking a new chapter in its history today is the new BMW X5. The X5 was the first vehicle of its kind when it was launched 11 years ago. Today it is the most successful model in the premium SAV category with one million X5 models sold. The new model looks more dynamic and is more powerful and fuel efficient than its predecessor. It also comes with many driver assist technologies that focus on increasing safety and comfort."

The enhanced design elements and power-trains incorporated on the 2011 BMW X5 are the result of over 4,000 new parts being integrated in the vehicle.

Selective design modifications to the front and rear of the vehicle clearly express enhanced sporting characteristics.

All versions of the new BMW X5 are also equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission as standard, offering optimised effectiveness and the highest degree of comfort. Two new engine variants have also been introduced to the BMW X5's portfolio; the BMW X5 xDrive50i and the X5 xDrive35i.

The top-of-the-range model, the xDrive50i, a V8 power unit, features a TwinPower Turbo and direct petrol injection, has an output 407bhp and accelerates from 0-100km/h in just 5.5 seconds. The xDrive35i is powered by 306bhp, straight six-cylinder engine with Twin Power Turbo, High Precision Injection and valvetronic technology and accelerates from 0-100km/h in 8.1 seconds.

The price starts at BD26,500.
