A PIONEERING new interior design company is brightening up homes in the kingdom with its 'extreme' modern features.
Bahrain-based Dallah Interior Design believes its innovative use of lighting will help keep customers cool in the scorching heat of summer.
Adel Jawahery, managing partner of the newly-opened company in Sanad, believes traditional Arabic designs can be enhanced by incorporating elegant and futuristic technology. He said: "Our very modern Arabian styles are very exotic and have already been well received in the Bahrain market.
"Our biggest feature is the lighting we use - the 'hidden' LED lights provide more illumination and produce less heat."
Mr Jawahery believes people should pay more attention to lighting issues when choosing the interior look of their home as it is a vital aspect.
He said: "People need to give it more thought and perhaps step away from the classic and traditional style by welcoming technology and modern ideas."
He also believes that it is ideally suited for the region's extreme weather conditions compared to regular spotlights or tubes which use more energy and increase the amount of heat generated in a room.
The company has already designed the interiors of four new homes in Saraya Sanad using Italian materials and its team is currently working on designs for its first retail outlet, which will open shortly in the GOSI complex in Hoora.
Mr Jawahery, 30 from Isa Town, said that the 'extreme design' was first introduced in Saudi Arabia and the company received favourable feedback.
"Although the concept is still new to many people here, the designs are now being widely accepted across the region."
The look has been inspired by movies and brainstorming with his friend and executive manager of the store, Hisham Al Rashid.
Mr Jawahery added: "Although I am a computer science graduate, designing has always been a serious hobby of mine. I would be constantly offering tips and suggestions to friends and family which all gave me the inspiration to set up the company."
Dallah Interior Design aims to provide complete solutions for the home including floors, furniture, accessories, wall paper and curtains.
The company is part of the Dallah Gulf Group which also has under its umbrella Dallah Advertising & Promotion, Dallah Landscaping & Construction, Dallah Events and Dallah Info and Tech.
