Bahrain-based Hilal Conferences & Exhibitions (HCE) has held a three-day road show in India, highlighting opportunities in the multi-billion-dollar Gulf economies and raising awareness of Bahrain's role as a prime gateway to the region.

Its representatives gave presentations to business leaders, chambers of commerce, export promotion councils and more than 120 companies.

HCE conference director Ahmed Suleiman said: "The combined value of the 100 largest projects completed or underway in the last two years in the GCC is more than $1.3 trillion (BD0.5trn). The road show promotes Bahrain's access to these markets via HCE's trade exhibitions and conferences.

"HCE's vision is to work alongside the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Economic Development Board to promote the kingdom which has the potential to become the 'Davos of the Middle East', where minds meet to exchange knowledge and do business."

Every year, it holds in Bahrain the Gulf Industry Fair, next slated for February 8-10, 2011, and gulfBID and gulfINTERIORS expos scheduled from April 26 to 28, 2011.
