Gulf Weekly Tamkeen unveils plan for SMEs marketing

Tamkeen has launched a 'Marketing Assistance Scheme' as part of its continuous efforts to develop and provide innovative programmes that meet Bahraini entrepreneurs' needs.

It is a co-financing scheme to provide eligible enterprises with professional consultancy to help them develop and implement integrated and innovative marketing strategies.

Enterprises will be able to present their products and services more favourably to customers, and develop their businesses, placing them on the track towards prosperity.

"It is a continuation of the Enterprise Development Support Programme's (EDSP) success in bridging gaps and meeting the most pressing needs of Bahraini enterprises through the innovative services it offers," said private sector support senior manager Mohammed Bucheery.

He said marketing is a science that is constantly evolving, especially in today's era of the internet and instant information requires businesses to modernise and update their marketing techniques.

The scheme, he said, has been developed in response to regular assessment studies and continuous feedback between Bahraini enterprises as well as Tamkeen and KPMG Fakhro, which manages the EDSP.

Mr Bucheery said studies and feedback showed that small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in particular, were in 'dire need' of a specialised marketing programme to help them promote their brands and attract targeted consumers more efficiently.

The Marketing Assistance Scheme is the newest addition to a group of plans Tamkeen offers under its flagship support programme, which include business development, technical assistance, quality management systems and growth assistance.

Bahraini entrepreneurs are invited to contact the Enterprise Development Support Agency (EDSA) to attend its 'one-hour Accelerator' - an orientation session in which schemes are introduced and terms and conditions for application explained.

KPMG Fakhro holds two daily sessions in Arabic and one in English every week at its office at Meral Building, Seef District.

More than 300 enterprises have benefited from the technical and advisory support offered by the programme since the launch of its second phase late last year.
