The island's fashion lovers were treated to a weekend of glitz and glamour at the third Bahrain Fashion Week (BFW) held at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre in Sanabis.

More than 800 people attended the three-day extravaganza last week which featured several leading local and international designers who showcased the latest trends and provided a platform for aspiring designers to show off their creativity.

Payal Patel, managing director of BFW, said: "We want everyone to see the potential that Bahrain has in this multi-billion dollar industry.

"In the long run we aim to provide a single platform for international and regional participants to present their collection to global and regional buyers, media, fashion professionals and fashion enthusiasts.

"Furthermore, having selected the very best international modelling talent, Bahrain Fashion Week's catwalk beauties completely stunned audiences with their elegance and strong presence. BFW 2010 has indefinitely marked the start of a new era in the Middle Eastern fashion world."
