Arsenal School players put their best foot forward

Arsenal School Bahrain teams contested the final of the British Club U11 Cup held at the British School with the Red team edging out Yellow 10-9 on penalties.

Four other squads were in the fray for the 9-a-side trophy - The British Club, Dilmun Club, British School and Rugby Club - and they were divided into two groups.

In Group 1, Arsenal Red beat the British School 5-0 and the Rugby Club 6-1 to finish top of the group. In Group 2 Arsenal Yellow beat the Dilmun Club 8-0 and The British Club with the same scoreline to finish top of their group.

All teams played a final - third placed teams for the Bowl which was won by The Rugby Club, and second placed teams competed for the Plate which The British School.

The cup final ended 2-2 after Arsenal Yellow came back from 0-2 down and therefore went into a penalty shootout. It was a tense shootout but eventually Arsenal Red lifted the trophy.

Arsenal Red also picked up the special prizes, with Cody Lancaster winning the top goal scorer award and Abdulla Riffai getting the player of the tournament accolade.
