Twin Palms Riding Centre has been very active with Ian Wright's visit from the UK being very successful. It culminated in an in-house show jumping event which brought many new riders to the competition ring, writes Helen Blake.
The winner from the weekend's show in the 50cm class was Rania Hanballi who fabulously steered Bingo just in front of Florence Finzi, back on track with MissPrint and a steadfast but lovely clear round brought Sue Parker and Poncho into third place.
This was the first event for Bianca Gromm and Pleasure, along with Tracey Bulger and Jasper, Lucy Lunt Bell with Ivan and Rita Tsvetkova riding Pearl. They all did exceptionally well but unfortunately gained four faults in their first rounds. However, the experience has them all determined to go clear next time.
In the 70cm class Kate Addison came first on Duell Time, followed by Stephane Dreyer on Angel, third Helen Blake with Merlin and Florence Finzi on MissPrint fourth. There were also excellent rounds by Dawood Salman on Loki and Rania on Bingo. Unfortunately they missed the jump-off.
The show, though fairly low key, was a huge success with Wright offering top tips and handy hints, leaving all eagerly awaiting his return in the New Year.
On Saturday at 3.30pm Twin Palms will be hosting its annual Christmas Gymkhana with lots of fun and festive games, and, of course, a visit from sshhhh ... you know who. So come along and enjoy the afternoon, there are spaces still available for any child wishing to sign up.
