Gulf fashion label MALAAK has launched a new collection inspired by the glamour and elegance of the 1920s.

The creative, retro-inspired designer abaya label stylishly mixes the traditional with the cosmopolitan to produce unique designs for the modern woman. According to the designer, the aim was to deliver a range of trendsetting, glamorous, contemporary abayas for today's fashionistas.

MALAAK's latest collection, recently launched after previewing at the 3abaya.com fashion show, combines the sophistication and style of the 1920s era, with an emphasis on the dropped waist and bold asymmetrical cuts across the body and sleeves.

The 14 piece collection offers a range of options with both more conservative closed necklines and contemporary open necklines. Meanwhile, the higher sleeves allow versatility and the opportunity to accessorise the piece.

Each garment is made using the highest quality, craftsmanship and the best materials, while ensuring each design is light and comfortable.

Huda Nuaimi, owner and designer of MALAAK, said: "The collection is very much a fusion between my passion for the 1920s and for abaya culture and design. The aim was to create a collection of pieces that refresh the silhouette of the abaya, and create something modern, and bold, while still respecting traditional values."

"We aim to offer something that is unique and designs that take the traditional Abaya into the 21st Century.

"Our customers are individuals who look for a unique sense of style and use fashion as a way of expression. The new collection can be worn with a short or long sleeves, and offers a mixture of closed and open pieces to provide something for every taste."

The collection will be complemented by the addition of a 'cruise collection' that will be launched early next year.
