Jimmy Choo has long been the footwear favourite of many celebrities when it comes to stepping out on to the red carpet ... and now appears just as popular with brides for walking down the aisle.

The brand is celebrating brides this year with a special interactive initiative on its website.

Tamara Mellon, founder and chief creative officer, said: "I am delighted that women the world over are coming to us to be part of their most special day. It makes me so proud that the shoes and bags we create can make a bride feel beautiful and confident - and the rest of the wedding party, of course!

"We are delighted for brides to share stories of their special day on 'My Choo Stories' this year. Today, many brides are selecting non-traditional bridal shoes and some of our most popular bridal shoes are related to styles that have appeared on the red carpet."

Highlights of the 2011 Bridal Collection include Reese Witherspoon recently wearing Macy for her wedding, as well as Natalie Portman receiving her Oscar this year wearing a version of the same style, Vita seen on Sandra Bullock, Lance seen on Jennifer Aniston and Zafira as seen on Jennifer Lopez from the 15th Anniversary Crystal Collection.

Many of these styles are available in the house's signature Champagne Glitter which is fast becoming the iconic bridal favourite, according to fashion watchers.

Many Jimmy Choo stores offer the same full range of services to brides as it does for celebrities visiting the Oscar or Bafta suite including special shopping days for bridal parties, shoe dying - both before the ceremony to match the dress, and after the ceremony to ensure the newlywed can wear the special shoes again.

Tamara will select the 'ultimate Jimmy Choo bridal story' at the end of May and the winner will receive their choice of shoes or bag from the current collection as a wedding present from the designer label.

Jimmy Choo shoes are available in Bahrain in Al A'ali Mall costing between BD140-500.

In 1996, he co-founded Jimmy Choo Ltd with British Vogue accessories editor Tamara Mellon. The ready-to-wear line has expanded to include accessories such as handbags.
