GULFWEEKLY readers have been driving home their message to Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone ... Bahrain is ready, willing and able to stage a rescheduled Gulf Air Formula One Grand Prix this year.

Messages supporting this newspaper's F1 campaign have been pouring in from business leaders, personalities and ordinary families living in the kingdom.

They have filled in front page and online petition forms and hope their voice will be heard by the FIA, motorsport's governing body, drivers, teams and fellow race fans from across the globe.

On June 3 officials will formally declare whether the race, delayed due to political unrest, is ON or OFF this season. Rescheduling the event to November would provide a massive boost for both sports lovers, the economy and notify the world that Bahrain is back in business.

It's not too late to make your views known. Simply email the coupon below to editor@gulfweekly.com or fill in the campaign page electronically by visiting www.gulfweekly.com

Editor Stan Szecowka will hand deliver your messages to Mr Ecclestone's Formula One Management office in Knightsbridge, central London before the deadline.

Bahrain is safe and sound - please do not take us off your calendar, we need you!

Adrian Reid

I really want the F1 to come back, this is always the highlight of the year where all our friends from all over the world come and visit us to watch the F1 race and enjoy the parties at night ...we schedule these get-togethers months in advance and were very disappointed when we had to cancel everything earlier this year.

Rita

Bahrain is back strong and safe. We are very optimistic of a better future. We believe that such an international sporting event will help to send the needed massage to the world that Bahrain is back. This will help for sure our economy and, for sure, will rebuild international trust. We need it to serve the hope of a brighter Bahrain, we need it to help repair and heal many things. The rewards of having F1 this year are much, much more than just an F1 race; it will serve Bahrain in all aspects.

Dear Mr Bernie,

This message is to urge you to give back the business and to give back the smile and happiness to the people of Bahrain.

Please be informed that the situation in Bahrain is well improved, or I can put it in other words, that it is back to normal since last month. We are ready to outperform and exceed your expectations in all means. Please give us one chance to prove to the world and prove to ourselves that we are back to normal as before.

Najib Rihan

Bahrain is ready, willing and able to welcome drivers, teams and race fans!

Noureen

Ever since F1 started in 2004, I have patronised the races.

Everybody I know who has been to the F1 each year has thoroughly enjoyed it.

Each moment at the F1 has brought joy and exhilaration to a large portion of the population, not only in Bahrain, but also around the world.

In view of the above, I urge the FIA to reschedule the event sometime in November 2011 and show credence to the efforts made by Bahrain in initially bringing the F1 to its people. I believe it will do much good. I certainly will enjoy it the most.

Bomanshaw Cooper

I have grown to love the F1 sport since its introduction in 2004, please do not take it away from us! Bahrain is back with a bang, we are stronger as a nation and hope that we will have the honour of being a continuous part of the sport we so dearly love.

The F1 Race is not just an event; it is an achievement all Bahrainis are proud of.

Vegan Bushiri

Please bring back the F1 Race to Bahrain this year.

Charlie Marlow

As one working in the retail field, I believe the situation in the region is improving. The malls are trading as usual and therefore Bahrain is ready to host and welcome tourists from across the world for the grand prix 2011.

Naeema Singoor

The Kingdom of Bahrain is more than ready, willing and able to welcome drivers, teams and race fans from across the globe to the Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2011.

Khalil Attiya Almohd

What Bahrain needs more than ever is an event where we can come together to celebrate the rich diversity our differences allow us to have. By bringing F1 to Bahrain, you will help us show the world that Bahrain is a colourful nation of different sects, backgrounds, religions, languages and colours ... yet the love of this sport is one of many things that bind us together. Bring back F1 and watch this nation come back bigger, better and stronger.

Mariam

Formula 1 is one of our special events in Bahrain ...we missed it but are now ready to welcome it back wholeheartedly.

I urge Bernie Ecclestone to consider the plea of several expats (Bahrainis at heart) who want the much anticipated sporting event of the year to come back.

Stephen J Daniel

Noor

Bahrain is 100 per cent ready for F1. PLEASE COME BACK.

Fatima Mahmood Ajawi

I think that F1 should be held in Bahrain this year because the situation is now normal.

Heyam Khalifa

Dear FIA,

I am an Egyptian and have been in Bahrain since February. I have been here through the unrest and have seen things progress over the past few months.

Coming from Egypt, for which I have been witnessing the unrest over there, I have seen that things are going very well here now. I feel very safe and things are now back to normal. I assure you that the situation has come to an absolute end by the wise decisions the government has made during the past few months.

I urge you to consider returning to Bahrain for the F1 event. It will mean a lot to this country and to all of us. Again I assure you that the situation is safe here and things are perfectly back to normal. I'm looking forward to attending the F1 in Bahrain this year.

Jihan Alsherif

Bahrain without Formula 1 is like Formula 1 without Bernie! Bahrain is ready for the race, the drivers, the technicians and FANS!

Rogier
