The first private sector initiative dedicated exclusively to getting more Bahraini nationals into the workforce – Jobs4Bahrainis. com – won the Bahrain eContent Award 2011 in the eInclusion category.
Against strict evaluation criteria, the website won the accolade for, among other reasons, its support for measures to integrate IT into the information society in Bahrain; its commitment to reducing the ‘digital divide’ and content gap between technology empowered and technology-excluded communities and groups; and bridging society through multimedia.
A joint venture between Gulf Connexions, the kingdom’s leading recruitment company and Al Hilal Group, a leading regional publishing organisation and supported by Gulf Air and other leading organisations in the kingdom, Jobs4Bahrainis. com has since its June 2010 launch rapidly established itself as a vital careers resource for Bahraini job seekers, graduates and/or experienced professionals.
Jobs4Bahrainis.com business development manager Ali Daylami said: “This prestigious award, coming so soon after our launch, recognises the efforts of the various parties involved in the initiative: from our committed staff and specialist IT support teams from Al Hilal Group to the Bahraini nationals who benefit from the resource. The accolade is also fitting reward for the unwavering support of our principal sponsor, Gulf Air, which has ensured the success of Jobs4Bahrainis.com'
