Gulf Weekly New model lights up the race circuit

THE new Audi A6 made its regional debut in Abu Dhabi during an intensive three-week long launch at the Yas Marina Circuit.

Hundreds of VIPs and journalists from all over the world attended the event to catch a glimpse of the new 204 hp 2.8 FSI and 300 hp 3.0 TFSI models.

The gleaming mean machines were put through their paces on the track as well as in numerous handling exercises and a scenic drive around Abu Dhabi.

With its light body, sporty chassis and new assistance and multimedia systems, the designers say it features ‘groundbreaking solutions in every area of technology’.

Jeff Mannering, managing director of Audi Middle East, said: “The new Audi A6 is already the seventh chapter of an extraordinary success story. It sold seven million times worldwide since it was first launched as the Audi 100.”

The sedan is 4.92 meters long and 1.87 meters wide, but just 1.46 meters high. The long engine hood, the low, sweeping roofline and the prominent lines on the flanks create a dynamic overall appearance.

The new Audi A6 was specially developed for the Middle East region. The four-zone automatic air conditioning system has been adapted to make it more suitable for the harsh climate.

The Multi Media Interface (MMI) is also available in Arabic including all menu points, navigation maps and voice instructions.

The Audi A6 is now available in the GCC starting from around BD19,500 and BD23,953 for the A6 2.8 FSI quattro and the 3.0 TFSI quattro respectively.

Both models come with five years service and three year warranty as standard.
