GULFWEEKLY readers are being urged to back a month-long campaign to support the kingdom’s good causes ... and make a difference this Ramadan.
The country’s campaigning community newspaper has linked up with Bahrain City Centre to back the mall’s mighty initiative which encourages customers to donate everyday items many take for granted such as clothing, books, eye glasses and mobile phones.
A special collection box will be placed in the mall this week on the first day of the Holy Month which will allow big-hearted supporters to make donations.
“Ramadan is a time to reflect on the lives of those who are less fortunate than ourselves and our ‘Make a Difference this Ramadan’ campaign is the perfect opportunity to create awareness and reach out to those who need it most,” said Bahrain City Centre asset director Ray Scott. The mall’s aim is to build on last year’s success while continuing to spread the message of giving and that’s where big-hearted GulfWeekly readers can step in.
Editor Stan Szecowka said: “We always receive a tremendous response from readers to our community campaigns and I’m positive we can make a real difference this time.”
The initiative is part of Majid Al Futtaim Properties’ regional-wide Ramadan campaign, with all 10 malls in the GCC participating. Last year more than 62,000 items were gathered collectively to help the underprivileged across the region.
