inJAz Bahrain is intensifying its school outreach programme and, as part of a three-year strategic plan, aims to reach more than 50,000 students.
During 2011/2012 the non-profit organisation has 13,632 students targeted for a vareity of training programmes, compared to 9,200 students the previous year.
To achieve its ambitious growth projection, inJAz Bahrain will require an estimated 2,000 volunteers over the next three years.
“We know that we have set a challenging target for ourselves, but we are encouraged with the outpour of support we have received thus far from our various benefactors, especially within the private sector,” said inJAz Bahrain executive director Shaikha Hessa bint Khalifa Al Khalifa.
A team of nearly 550 volunteers will administer the 14 inJAz programmess which cover three primary pillars: work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy.
“Although the majority of the volunteers came from large organisations, we are grateful to all the companies who have supported us. Every contribution, no matter how small, helps us reach our target and bolsters the abilities of as many students as possible,” she added.
The majority of this semester’s volunteers are provided by GPIC, Bapco, Batelco, Gulf Air, Citi Bank, Alba, HSBC, Ernst & Young, CBB, Iskan Bank, Kuwait Finance House Bahrain, BBK, Al Salam Bank Ithmaar Bank, Y. K. Al Moayyed & Sons, Tatweer Petroleum, ARIG, Tamkeen and the Economic Development Board.
