Gulf Weekly Island Classic set to tee off

The AMH Island Classic charity golf tournament, under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad, is all set to tee off at His Majesty’s private golf course in Safriya tomorrow.

The three-day event - one of the leading fixtures on Bahrain’s sporting calendar - is now in its 15th year.

The event continues to raise funds for hospital equipment and for programmes staged inside and outside the hospital aimed at improving health in the community.

Bahnaz Abbas, AMH marketing and development manager and Island Classic organiser, said: "AMH was founded to serve Bahrain. We are proud to continue that tradition and thank all those who assist us by supporting the annual AMH Island Classic programmes."

GulfWeekly will be entering a team featuring Matt Chalmers-coached golfing disaster and Editor Stan Szecowka, columnist Stevie George, Bahrain International Circuit executive Rodney Davies and Royal Golf Club member David Axtell.
