World-class animal acts, including the acclaimed Andalusian ‘dancing stallions’are set to entertain at the Mara’ee – Bahrain Animal Production Show held at the Bahrain International Endurance Village, Sakhir.
The event, organised by the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, will feature an array of attractions includinga show featuring exotic birds, an aquatic adventure in the form of Fish World and also an exhibition showing various breeds of farm animals, horses, as well as dogs and cats.
There will be an outdoor theatre along with fun stations for children and a farmer’s market offering animal-related products and services.
One of the highlights of the event will be ‘How the Andalusian Horses Dance’ presented twice daily by The Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art from Jerez de la Frontera, Spain.
In addition there will be an educational zone including an Animal Boulevard Learning Trail and petting sessions, a Rainforest Adventure Maze from the US, an interactive Mad Science Mad Lab and more.

The American Mission Hospital (AMH) will be organising the ‘AMH Colon Cancer Walk-A-Thon’ at 4pm from the Dohat Araad walkway in Muharraq. A Chinese embroidery masterpiece exhibition is being held at the Art Centre next to the Bahrain National Museum as part of a week-long Chinese Art Festival. Doors will open at 7pm and the event is free for all. The Little White Egret dance group, featuring the exotic dance art of Chinese ethnic minority groups, will also put on a show at 8pm.
The Bin Matar House in Muharraq is hosting an interactive sound installation over the coming months based on one of Mahmoud Darwish’s most famous poems, Mural. A towering 4x2 wall will greet visitors as part of an interactive experience.
The wall will display photographic prints of lines of the poem handwritten by the poet. Upon touching parts of the wall, excerpts of the poem can be heard due to touch-sensitive concrete tiles with in-built speakers and infrared sensors. The event will run until June 30.
