Bahrain residents are being offered the opportunity to learn new artistic talents through a series of workshops taking place alongside the Spring of Culture 2012 Festival.

Drama lovers are invited to attend the Actor’s Toolbox workshop It will be held next Wednesday at the Arts Centre between 5pm and 6pm.

Another workshop, Jody Sperling – Time Lapse Dance co. will be dedicated held for children aged five and above on April 3 at the Cultural Hall between 5pm and 6pm.

The Tap Dogs group is holding a workshop to practice some tap dance moves and rhythms for kids and teenagers. It will be hosted on April 6, at the Arad Fort from 11am to 12pm.

A number of Bahrain’s leading artists are putting their work on display on the first floor of Seef Mall’s West extension as part of the build-up to the 2012 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix.

The exhibition is open for viewing today and tomorrow and will feature prominent national artists including Balqees Fakhro and Khalid Altahmazi.


The Bahrain Contemporary Arts Association is hosting the first print exhibition for female Arab artists at its premises in Juffair. The exhibition will run until April 8.

Expressions Marketing Communications is staging a ‘Run, walk for autism’ at the Prince Khalifa bin Salman Park in Hidd on April 13 at 9am. All proceeds will be donated to the Ria Centre in Adliya. There will be a 2km junior race for children aged between six and 12, a 3km race for teens 13 years and above, an 8km run for ages 16 and above as well as a 4km walkathon for participants aged 13 and above. Entrance fees for children under the age of 15 is BD4, BD6 for 16 years and older and BD2 for walkers. Each participant will receive a T-shirt, race number and a light meal. Walkers will receive a T-shirt. Registration starts at 8am on the day.
