Bahrain’s national carrier Gulf Air has added two extra flights to and from Madinah in Saudi Arabia to meet an increasing market demand.

The airline will increase its frequency from four to six per week in each direction starting from May 19.

Together, these additional flights will offer 544 more seats. The extra flights offer more flight options for Saudi business travellers and visitors to travel to Bahrain and more flights for Bahraini pilgrims, who now have more choices to visit this holy city.

Gulf Air CEO Samer Majali said: "The introduction of additional flights between Madinah and Bahrain emphasises the importance we attach to Saudi Arabia and our business strategy to concentrate on high-demand routes to ensure our core customer base is served effectively and efficiently.

"We have been flying to Saudi since 1950, and have been operating to Madinah since June 2010. Since then we have continuously expanded and strengthened our presence connecting customers from the far corners of the kingdom to the world through our network.

"The departure and arrival timings of the additional flights have been timed in such a way that they benefit both international and regional travellers whether on business or pilgrimage."
