Gulf Weekly Celts B edge past Jurassic Juniors

Arabian Celts B secured all three points with a single goal victory over Jurassic Juniors in a tight fixture with few clear cut goal-scoring chances.

The signs were not good for the Juniors when ’keeper Andy ‘The Pleasure’ Melville managed to turn up with no gloves.
For the first 10-minutes the Juniors looked keen, with attempts on goal from Lord Clogg, and the outstretched Bhew Boy just managing to miss the ball as it was cut back across an open goal.

Celts wrestled back some possession and the game found itself often bogged down in a busy midfield.

Eventually Celts B took the initiative when a corner was swung into the box and although cleared by the Juniors’ defence it fell to a Celts striker who, unchallenged on the edge of the area, smashed the ball into the back of the net.

Chances were wasted by both sides with Tarik, Aziz, Jacques and Matt all going close for the Juniors. Lord Clogg managed to fire off a couple of efforts under pressure from the Celts defence, but no one could find a way through.

In the end the Celts held out, leaving Juniors to go into a three-week break on the back of two losses.
