St Christopher’s and Joga Bonito lead ladies league

The Arsenal Soccer School Bahrain Ladies League are having a mid-season break but will be back on the pitch battling for points to secure the GulfWeekly Premiership Trophy next week.

Arsenal senior coach, Deena Rahman, said: "We are obviously delighted to see so many ladies in action on Monday nights. Having reached our half way point in the league, everyone has played all the teams once.We are taking a break and will resume on April 2."

So far St Christopher’s Seniors have put on a remarkable show this season with 17 points and sit proudly on top of the league.

Joga Bonito, sponsored by Sylvan Learning of North Sehla, are breathing down their necks with the same points but an inferior goal difference.

Joga Bonito recently notched a 7-0 victory over the Eastern Flames. In the other games, RCSI defeated Royal Arsenal 4-1, Woolwich were victorious over Dial Square 12-3 and the Bahrain U16 national team fell to St Christopher’s Seniors 3-0.

When the league resumes St Christopher’s Seniors will play Dial Square, RCSI take on the U16 Bahrain National team, Royal Arsenal play Eastern Flames and Woolwich Arsenal face Joga Bonito.
