The Dodge brand is charging ahead in transmission technology for 2012 with the 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 powered 2012 Dodge Charger, now available with an eight-speed automatic transmission, delivering a best-in-class 31 miles per gallon on the highway.
“The new eight-speed transmission takes the Dodge Charger, which was already at the head of its class, and puts it in a league of its own - our Charger customers don’t have to compromise as they can get the fuel efficiency of a mid-size car in a full-size sedan with the distinctive styling that is only available from Dodge,” said Godwin D’Cruz, sales & marketing manager - Automotive Division, Ahmed Zayani & Sons.
The state-of-the-art ZF eight-speed automatic transmission, once limited to premium import vehicles costing twice as much, is available on rear-wheel Dodge Charger models equipped with the award-winning 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 engine, delivering 292hp.
For 2012, the Dodge Charger line-up has been simplified to include SE, SXT and R/T models, which offer technology, performance and value-packed feature packages. And topping the Charger range is the SRT8 version with a new 470hp 6.4-litre HEMI V8 that features 45 more hp.
