Fans of Fox’s hit sitcom New Girl can expect a range of special guest stars when the show returns to the small-screen for its second season later this year.
Sources have claimed that characters Schmidt and CeCe won’t be reconciling anytime soon following their break-up in the finale of season one. Hilarity and drama are set to ensue as former Traffic Light actor Nelson Franklin has been cast as Cece’s new boyfriend, Robby.
Meanwhile, Anna Maria Horsford will be joining the cast as Winston’s mother, Charmaine Bishop, TV Line reports. Charmaine is slated to be a no-nonsense character who uses tough love to raise all of her children to be professional basketball players.
Other guest stars in the pipeline for season two include Leslie Mann as a girl who catches Schmidt’s eye, Bent star David Walton as a bad-boy interest for Jess and former Reno 911 star Niecy Nash, as a girl who tries to steal Jess’ purse.
The last episode of season one aired in Bahrain on OSN Comedy last week.
New Girl is set to return for its second season with a two-episode premiere on September 25 in the US.
