The pastry team at one of Bahrain’s leading hotels plans to spread a bit of happiness over the festive season and raise funds for charity champions assisting struggling families in the kingdom.
The Kempinski Winter Wonderland Chalet in Bahrain City Centre will be inviting mall shoppers on Friday from 3pm-6pm to decorate delicious home-made cookies with their children with all proceeds going to the Palm Association.
“Christmas is a time of giving ... and feasting!” said Clement Raybaud, Pastry Chef at the Kempinski Grand & Ixir Hotel Bahrain City Centre.
“Our pastry team has been working at full speed to prepare and perfect the many Christmas cakes and treats that will be on offer during December.
“We are confident that visitors will feel the warmth and joy of the festive season in our sweet offerings.
“We are especially excited to be supporting the Palm Association this festive season, and we hope that the children have a great time decorating our cookies for a great cause.”
It will cost only BD2 to decorate a cookie in the hotel lobby.
The brainchild of two long-term resident expatriate ladies, The Palm Association has grown from humble beginnings to a well-respected, pro-active organisation, run by women, with the sole purpose of providing help and assistance to Bahrain families and individuals.
Eibhlin Crosse, chairman of The Palm Association, said: “As you can imagine we were bowled over when the hotel told us that they would like to donate the profits from this cookie decorating activity to us! First of all because we are very familiar with the elevated culinary reputation that the Kempinski enjoys not only in Bahrain, but the world over; we were humbled that their chefs would offer up their services to help finance The Palm Association’s various projects such as the Feed-A-Family programme, Education and Project Rebuild.
“We also feel it is fitting that a fun activity that a family can enjoy together will directly benefit families who need their help.”
Launched this weekend the cookie decorating fun will take place at the same time every Friday throughout December.
