Fish lovers are in for a treat! LuLu Hypermarkets across the kingdom are holding a Seafood Festival with a variety of local and internationally- imported fish at reasonable prices.
Buying fish may have become a nightmare over the years due to fluctuating quality and cost, but thanks to LuLu, top-notch seafood is being offered in a separate section in the stores until Saturday, with prices ranging as low as BD0.790 per kg.
A large variety of fish has been imported from Kerala, India, including white pompret (BD4.990/kg), pearl spot-karimeen (BD3.590/kg), sardines (BD1.490/kg), kalta (BD2.690/kg), anchovies (BD2.690/kg), rohu (BD2.690/kg) and mussels (BD2.690/kg), which are the main highlights of the festival.
Although buying fish has become complicated, cooking it still remains as simple as ever. Steam it, grill it, poach it and even thrown it into a curry and you have yourself a healthy meal with a high intake of Omega 3 fatty acids that comes with the freshness it’s delivered in.
