Brand new range unveiled

JAC Motors (Jianghuai Automobile Co Ltd) made its Bahrain debut by launching five models at a lavish ceremony at The Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel Residence & Spa on Monday.

The launch, by Auto-o’s, a division of Bahrain Commercial Services Co, was attended by Dr Hassan Fakhro, the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Li Chen, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, Faisal Jawad, chairman of Bahrain Commercial Services, other officials, VIPs and members of the media.

The Chinese automaker has a wide model line that spans from commercial trucks to small city cars starting at BD3,750 and in 2011 was ranked as the ninth-largest China-based vehicle manufacturer by production volume.

“We are proud to be associated with JAC and are happy to bring award-winning car models to Bahrain. We believe that these vehicles will be successful in the market and we will do everything to offer people the best service possible,” said Mr Jawad.

The new models aim to combine luxury and practicality at a competitive price and deliver an unparalleled drive, its makers say.

The vehicles launched in Bahrain include the J5, J6, J3, JAC MPV and M1 Cargo Van. All the sedan models feature leather seats, alloy wheels, parking sensors and sunroofs.

The brand’s main attraction is the 1.8-litre B Class sedan, the JAC J5, which has been awarded a C-NCAP five-star crash test rating. It was designed by the famous Italian company Pininfarina.

The 1.3-litre A Class sedan, the JAC J3 Turin, was deigned in Italy and it received the premium compact segment award from JD Power, a global authoritative auto testing and evaluation company.

Meanwhile, the family 7-seater Cross J6 is powered by a 1.8-litre engine and boasts several seating configurations to offer large families added convenience. 

The J6 is a family-friendly MPV vehicle which its makers claim exudes a sense of rugged capability. Its safety credentials are top-of-the-line, having achieved a 5-star safety rating and it also boasts impressive fuel economy for a vehicle of its size.

The M1 is a cargo van boasting lots of space. It aims to establish a new benchmark for high-end MPV value. Added safety is a priority, thanks to its rigid body, anti-collision buffer area and dual front airbags designed to provide comprehensive safety. It is also available as a 12-seater.

All models come with 3-years or 100,000km warranty and a courtesy car is available when the owner books in a service.
