A competitive new edition has been added to the booming compact SUV market in the form of the Citroën C4 Aircross.
The vehicle was unveiled at a ceremony at Bahrain City Centre organised by Motorcity, the marque’s distributor in Bahrain.
The impressive four-wheel-drive family car, unveiled by Motorcity’s general manager Waleed Kanoo, captivated shoppers in the mall and fans of the French brand.
The event was also attended by Dr Hassan Fakhro, the Minister of Industry and Commerce.
Vishal Prabhakar, Motorcity’s acting sales manager said: “We are sure that our customers will be delighted to experience the Citroën C4 Aircross’ new bold design as this elegant vehicle is perfectly fit for contemporary lifestyles.”
Ideal for the school run and weekend trips into the desert; this is the manufacturer’s first compact SUV aiming to combine the elegance of Citroën sedans with the dynamism of an off-roader, its makers say.
Bold detailing at the front, big wheel arches, LED running lights and a high waistline provide assertive looks. It features five seats and a boot volume of 442 litres.
Backed with a 150bhp 2.0-litre petrol engine, the model is available in two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive versions, with continuously variable transmission. This high performance engine features 16 valves, an aluminium cylinder block and variable valve timing.
A rear-view camera concealed in the chrome trim of the tailgate not only looks stylish but aims to make parking a dream. The chrome trims on the lower side panels and tailgate and the dark-tinted rear windows add a further touch of class.
The ‘new generation’ four-wheel-drive transmission will deliver impeccable road holding and a relaxing, enjoyable drive, its makers added.
The Citroën C4 Aircross plans to deliver traction and handling necessary in all situations by combining driving aids such as ESP with skid control ABS, electronic brake force distribution, hill-start assist and electronically controlled four-wheel drive.
The interior boasts a rational layout for a driver’s easy use. The large glove box is lit and chilled, as it’s linked to the air conditioning.
For entertainment purposes there is a hi-fi system developed by Rockford Fosgate, world specialists in audio equipment, and it comprises of six loudspeakers.
The Citroën also provides hands-free access and start-up, a Bluetooth hands-free function and an audio streaming function. It also features a large glazed panoramic sunroof with UV protection and a one-touch electric blind, ideal for those sunny Bahraini days.
The Citroën C4 Aircross is as affordable as it is comfortable, starting from BD9,000.
