Essa Al Qutami and Salah Al Shaer won Awali Golf Club’s annual competition, the Johnnie Walker Foursomes, sponsored by BMMI, with 39 points. The competition was first run way back in the 1967/1968 season.
As with previous years, the foursomes Stableford format adds an extra challenge as players form a two-person team, taking shots alternately. The challenge is control of one’s opinion on the quality of a partner’s play, especially when this has been wayward.
Richard and Jo Pawson finished second on 38 points edging out Hamad Fares Al Qutami and Abdulrahman Amin on countback, with Onny and Joan Martin following on with 37 points.
