Gulf Weekly Hot model designed for the summer sun

THE 2014 Citroën C-Elysée was launched at a glitzy ceremony at the Sofitel Bahrain Zallaq Thalassa Sea & Spa by Motorcity, the marque’s distributor in Bahrain.

The new model is designed to stand the test of time and mileage, its makers say.

Extreme driving conditions in the Middle East have been factored in from the design stage and, as a result, the vehicle features appropriate clearance and tyres, additional under-body protection and a reinforced design.

Under the bonnet, the new model boasts a 1.6-litre engine, delivering 115bhp, paired with a 4-speed automatic gearbox. A wide wheelbase and specially-designed gearbox are combined with electric power steering to ensure strong road holding and safety even in the most difficult conditions. It’s also fitted with ABS brakes and dual airbags and high-tech equipment, such as a special air conditioning system, which includes a ‘Max’ function for fast cooling.

Prices start from BD4,850.
