Sylvester Stallone’s boxing movie franchise Rocky may have one last shot at the big-screen.
A spinoff film called Creed is going ahead, with Michael B Jordan tapped to star, it has been reported.
The young actor is being lined-up to play the grandson of Rocky Balboa’s first rival, Apollo Creed, according to Deadline.
Meanwhile, Sylvester Stallone is returning as Rocky Balboa, now a retired fighter who has become a boxing instructor.
Ryan Coogler is to write and direct the feature.
Coogler’s story will centre on Creed’s grandson, a well-off young man who takes up boxing when he realises he has a natural talent.
He later seeks the mentorship of his grandfather’s famous conqueror Rocky Balboa.
Stallone recently revealed that a Rocky musical is set to debut on Broadway in 2014.
