Expat tournament thrills crowds

A sterling spell of bowling by Sameer, who claimed four wickets in five balls, and a fine knock of 24 by Balaji led Sun Gulf Chak De India to a 26-run victory over Summer Land in the final of the Indian Club African & Eastern 7-a-side Expat Cricket tournament at the club premises.

Electing to bat on winning the toss, Sun Gulf scored 47 for the loss of three wickets in their six overs and then bundled out Summer Land for a paltry 21 in just 4.5 overs.

Earlier in the semi-finals, Sun Gulf thrashed Castle Boys by 65 runs, while Summer Land defeated a battling Sky Star Jai Maharashtra by three wickets.

Semi-final scores: Sky Star Jai Maharashtra 45 all out in 5.5 overs (Jacinto 16) lost to Summer Land 46 for 3 in 5.4 overs (Furkhan 13) by 3 wkts.

Sun Gulf Chak De India 80 all out in 5.5 overs (Abbas 25) bt Castle Boys 15 all out in 4.2 overs by 65 runs.
