Thanks for the amazing write- up about my book Hometown (GulfWeekly, Issue 35). I cannot believe it’s so big on the front page! All my colleagues are talking about it. I made an order for 100 books yesterday which will be arriving in Bahrain in approximately two weeks.

OUR next Bahrain Writers Circle (BWC) meeting is scheduled for 7.30pm on September 8, at Organic Foods & Cafe, Seef Mall extension.
The Circle – a collection of talented and enthusiastic writers and aspiring writers in the kingdom, many of them Bahrainis – has grown phenomenally in the last couple of years since it was first floated in 2011.
This year too has seen some exciting events and involvement with the wider community; a notable one being the 2013 Colours of Life Poetry Festival in June.
Each month since May, we’ve also had small writing competitions and our writers have been judged by established authors like Kavery Nambisan – the Indian writer whose book The Story That Must Not Be Told was shortlisted for the Man Asian Literary Prize 2008 and The DSC Prize for South Asian Literature 2012.
More recently we’ve had Ruth Jacobs, a UK-based writer whose debut novel, Soul Destruction: Unforgivable, published in April by Caffeine Nights, as a judge.
There will be more competitions for our members and a wider range of established writers as judges. So do come along and help us promote writing for the love of words!
