Calling all thespians

I have never been good at asking for help. Well, the act of asking for help is one I seldom engage in; therefore, my level of skill in the act is rarely tested.

However, I find myself in a position where I may have to rely on the kindness of strangers. For many years past, Year 13 students at the British School of Bahrain have enjoyed the privilege of doing an A2 drama course. Yet, this year; that may not be the case.

This year, the year where a student actually looks to continue drama at university level, the course looks as though it cannot go ahead.

As you can see the student is clearly me and my luck is stupendous. At the beginning of the previous school year, the AS drama class was a hefty four people, with Bahrain being Bahrain; four became three, which then snapped to just one. Me.

Therefore, through no fault of my own and beyond anyone’s control, my action plan for the next couple of years, which seemed to be so clear, has been dropped on its head.

The problem being: that this is drama. It doesn’t quite work with one person, at the bare minimum I need two more people.

This means, I find myself reaching out to anyone with a drama background or experience in theatre to lend me their time, from the months of September to February, from Monday to Thursday for approximately an hour-and-a-half each day.

It is a huge ask, I know, and believe me, I am willing to pay for your time, as I cannot stand the fact that control of my future has leapt out of my own hands, and all the odds are viciously against me. If, bless your heart, you are interested you can email me at this address: hannahh@student.thebsbh.com

And, I promise you; in person I am not as stand-offish as I may sometimes appear in these articles.

Editor’s note: I can vouch for that, although I think she is being a little harsh on herself – all round good person, great actress, please help Hannah!
