Gulf Weekly New model launched in spectacular style

The 2014 Nissan Tiida was unveiled in spectacular style at the marque’s showroom in Sitra.

The launch by Y.K. Almoayyed & Sons, the distributor of Nissan vehicles in Bahrain, was attended by top brand officials, VIPs and members of the media who were enthralled by the carnival-themed entertainment and fare.

There was a satellite feed from the marque’s other showrooms across the GCC, meaning it was launched simultaneously and visitors were entered into a raffle draw to win one of the new models.

The new model is shaped to complement the lifestyle of the young at heart of customers in Bahrain and throughout the region, its makers say. With a revamped look, advanced technology and class-leading spaciousness, the second generation of the Middle East’s best-selling compact hatchback is aiming to build on the Tiida nameplate’s success.

“The all-new Nissan Tiida is equipped to reward the diverse lifestyles of Bahrain’s free spirits,” said Paul Baker, general manager at Y.K. Almoayyed & Sons – Nissan Division.

The new model has been restyled both inside and out. Its aerodynamic body shape blends sophistication with a sporty influence, complemented by widened and lowered stance, electric-folding mirrors and 17-inch alloys wheels. Its interior boasts quality materials and ‘lifestyle-accommodating’ design.

There are two engine options available and five well-equipped grades. The 1.6-litre ‘S’, which comes as standard with 60/40 rear split bench, dual front airbags, Anti-lock Braking System, Electronic Brake Distribution, Brake Assist, Xtronic Continuously Variable Transmission and keyless entry, rising to the 1.8-litre SL Plus, with leather seats, six airbags and electrically-controlled sunroof.

Available options include satellite navigation, 5.8-inch colour display and rear view camera and iPod connectivity.

A multimedia package is available including Push start engine, Bluetooth and streaming audio with portable MP3 player through USB port. There is also a 5.8-inch colour touch display, navigation, rear view camera, auto and rear A/C vents with dual climate control.

Prices start from BD5,995.
