In life every person is completely individual, they prefer different foods, different positions when they sleep, different music … and the same is also true with training.

Everyone’s body will be different just as everyone’s minds will be different; this means that they will have different goals but also different capabilities in their pursuit of those goals.

Of course, there are certain principles that 98 per cent of the population will need to stick to, these have been proven by science. Just as each person shares the same majority of the same physical make-up, they share the effectiveness of these principles.

The beauty of individualism comes from each person’s life, their goals and also their training history.
 
Keeping things simple but exceedingly consistent is nearly always the best way forward.

This doesn’t mean that from time to time, these staples of training can’t be proven to be unsuitable, nor does it mean that there isn’t room for innovation.

This is the beauty of using science to train; we can use scientific studies to both welcome effective new methods of training, as well as reject others.

The reality of a one-size-fits-all programme just does not exist; every programme must be completely individual.
