Hyundai Motor Company has launched the new 2014 Tucson in the Middle East.
With powertrain improvements and added features, Hyundai’s most popular SUV is now even better suited for the Middle East market.
Its ‘Fluidic sculpture’ design also makes it one of the most attractive SUVs in its segment for Middle Eastern families with an active lifestyle, its makers say.
The depowered airbags on the driver and passenger side deploy at reduced force to prevent possible injury while side and curtain airbags are installed all around to protect occupants from injuries.
The Theta-II 2.0 MPI engine in the previous model has been replaced with a new Nu 2.0 MPI engine producing 158ps/6,200rpm and peak torque of 19.6kg-m/4,000rpm, making it more fuel efficient than the out going model.
The Tucson is available in 2.4-litre GL or 2.4L GLS versions and comes with a starting price of $19,500 (around BD7,400).
Vice president and head of Hyundai Middle East Headquarters, Tom Lee, said: “The Tucson has a proven record as our best-selling SUV in the Middle East. For this reason we believe the new 2014 model, with the enhancement package, will be even more appealing to our customers here.”
