The British School of Bahrain has staged its annual Certificate Presentation Evening to celebrate the results its A Level and GCSE examination students achieved last year and to present them with their certificates.
For the fourth year in a row students achieved a 100 per cent A level pass rate. This year, nearly a third were the top grades of A*/A and well over a half of the results were A*-B.
The A level result averages were all well above UK averages, BSB said, and all students gained places into their university of choice.
“Yet again we are immensely proud of our students and their achievements and we have a record number of students returning to the Sixth Form this year to continue with their A level studies and some will be starting our new Business Studies BTEC course which has the equivalency of two A levels,” said head of school, Dr Charles Wall.
Whilst congratulating all its successful students, the school drew particular attention to the results achieved by Zain Alansari - Economics A, French A, Mathematics A, Physics B, Amanda Johnson - Mathematics A, Further Mathematics A, Physics A*, Bhagyata Kinger - Economics A*, Mathematics A*, Further Mathematics A* and Government & Politics A - and Charinda Perera - Mathematics A*, Further Mathematics A and Physics A.
GCSE students, also performed well with 100 per cent passes in all subjects, BSB added. Of these over a third were at the top grades of A*/A and nearly two-thirds were within A*-B. The percentage of students with five good I/GCSE passes (A*-C) was a resounding 96 per cent. All of these scores exceed the UK averages by quite a large margin.
During last Wednesday’s certificate awards evening 64 students were presented with their certificates by Dr Wall. Rashad Janahi, chairman of the school’s board of trustees and other members attended.
