Sleep; we feel like we’ve never had enough. Yet, it makes us late on numerous occasions, eludes us at times, and even unexpectedly grabs us at the most inconvenient of moments.
According to the fount of all knowledge: Google; teenagers need an average of 10 hours sleep a night. That’s laughable.
How many of us actually get 10 hours of sleep? I don’t know about you guys, but I’m ecstatic and dancing on rainbows if I get six.
For those of you over 18, you need an average of eight hours sleep every night. Is it just me who thinks that these statistics are ridiculous and over ambitious?
Google goes on to tell me that sleep is needed to recharge your brain and repair cells … and you will sooner die of sleep deprivation than you will of starvation. That’s cheery; but true, as it takes two weeks to starve, whereas 10 days without sleep will kill you.
Therefore, our apparent lack of sleep, clearly, makes us daredevils that are flirting with death.
