The Dilmun Club, in conjunction with Bahrain Tennis Academy (BTA), held a ‘Mini Wimbledon’ tournament to mark British Week. The 13/U tournament for boys and girls featured a timed round-robin event in which all participants played all other players in their assigned group.
At the end of the round-robin stage Akshat Gupta, Sai Rama Balakrishnan, Sai Raghav Balakrishnan and Rida Nayeemullah topped their respective groups and went through to the semi-finals, where Akshat prevailed over Rida and Sai Rama emerged victorious over younger brother Sai Raghav.
In a well-fought final, that was almost a replay of a previous encounter, Akshat proved too strong again claiming the trophy with a 5-3 win over Sai Rama.
