Following on from the successful return to action of the Bahrain RFC Ladies Sevens team a couple of weeks ago the club would like to issue another call to anybody else who might be interested in getting involved in ladies rugby.
Such was the impressive performance of the team in the Kuwait tournament that Bahrain has now been invited to join the league for the final three rounds of this season – in Sharjah later this month, Doha in March and Dubai in April – and, of course, we would be delighted to participate in any or all of these.
The squad is currently made up of a small group of committed and enthusiastic girls – many of whom had never played the game before the previous tournament – who train together on Monday and Wednesday nights from 7.30pm and they very much would welcome any others who may be keen to play or simply try it out.
Aside from players, anyone who may be interested in getting involved in the coaching/management side or sponsoring of the ladies team is also encouraged to come forward.
Ladies training is the latest addition to a now busy rugby schedule at the club on a Wednesday night, with the first XV, NSA Bucks, Golden Oldies and Social Touch players all turning out regularly.
Thank you for the article about Esra Lokum Turkish Delights in last week’s GulfWeekly. There was a slight error in Fadi Al Mahamid’s title; he is the operations manager of Jawad, and we are pleased these items are proving so popular in the company’s stores.
