Royal Golf Club members Robert Timmers and Nauman Ahmed were the lucky recipients of a brand new Titleist Vokey wedge apiece after their names were drawn from the Captains’ Charity Bunker Box.
Golfers were charged an optional BD1 every time their ball landed in a specific bunker on the 18th fairway of the Club’s Montgomerie championship course or in a bunker on the 9th of the Wee Monty 9-hole course, with the money raised going to the Club Captains’ chosen charities. To sweeten the deal, renowned golf equipment supplier Titleist, have sponsored four clubs to be used as prizes each quarter so that everyone who chooses to pay the fines has a chance to win.
Lady Captain Dena Wales’ chosen charity is RIA, a centre providing education, rehabilitation and support to youngsters with special educational needs and their families as well as offering mainstream education for nursery age children.
Gent’s Captain Stephen Wagstaff supports the Bahrain Down Syndrome Society as his chosen charity.
“A big thank you to all the members and guests who have taken part in the Captains’ Charity Bunker scheme,” said Wales. “I would also like to thank the club’s management team for the administration of this scheme.”
