The Whisperer

One of the top schools on the island has leased its huge hall, which houses eight badminton courts, to a badminton academy, which rents it out hourly to people who love the sport.

The Whisperer’s friend is one such lover of the game who plays on these courts with friends three days a week. He vouches for the venue’s popularity as there are hardly any courts available for anyone who walks in to play during the peak period (from 6pm to 9pm) on any given day.

Now the school authorities have told the academy that they will not be leasing the hall from next month due to the education ministry’s directives of ‘too many people not connected with the school on the premises’.

So does that mean that after all these months the badminton lovers will have to look for a new place to enjoy their passion or is there hope for another alternative?
