For the third time since inception, the Bahrain Chapter of the Entrepreneurs‘ Organisation (EO) has won the EO ‘Rock Star Chapter’ status in recognition of its excellence.

The organisers say the award demonstrates the chapter’s high level of dedication and the board’s resilience and determination to provide the best value possible to its members.

The organisation is a global network of more than 10,000 business owners in 46 countries collectively providing employment for over 2.4 million people and generating over $536 billion in annual revenue.

Holding Rock Star status means the local chapter is among the highest-ranking globally as only five out of 37 EMEA chapters achieved the status last year and only two have ever scored a hat-trick of awards – Bahrain and South Africa’s Johannesburg.

Safa Sharif, president of EO Bahrain, said: “The award is a clear reflection on Bahrain’s thriving community of dedicated and committed entrepreneurs. Winning Rock Star, while competing with 143 global chapters, shows how serious our community is about growing and learning. It is a motivation for the new board to maintain our chapter’s quality as we grow ever larger.”

The Bahrain chapter of EO was established in 2004 and currently has 42 members who collectively employ more than 5,700 employees and whose businesses have a combined turnover of $200 million in annual revenue. Members of EO Bahrain are involved in various market sectors from apparel and accessories through to web design.
