The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain Hotel & Spa is hosting its first Oktoberfest event. From today until Friday between 7pm and midnight, guests can enjoy a traditional Bavarian festival with authentic German food and beverages. Bavarian band Biergart’n Blos has flown into Bahrain for the event. The first 100 guests will get a Bavarian felt hat as a gift.

In the outdoor area will be entertainment booths such as can throwing and gun shooting with prizes. On Friday, which also marks Germany’s reunification day, the hotel will be offering a different kind of Friday brunch from noon to 4pm under the theme of the Oktoberfest.

The Swiss-Café Restaurant at the Swiss-Belhotel Seef Bahrain has a brand new Business Lunch Buffet available. It costs BD7 nett per person (including soft drinks) and features a selection of Mediterranean and Oriental dishes complimented by French pastries.

The Royal Golf Club is hosting its second annual Oktoberfest event, a festival of German food, drinks and music. Tickets cost BD21 net for club members and BD26 net for non-members, inclusive of all food, soft drinks and two German beverages per person.

The Bahrain Rugby Football Club, Janabiyah, is hosting its annual Picnic in the Park. Members and guests can bring their own picnic or make use of the food stations. There will be music and children’s entertainment throughout the day and a special drinks offers.

The Royal Country Club’s Family Movie Night takes place weekly in the gardens from 6pm. All are welcome to attend; entry for non-members is BD5 for adults and BD2.500 for under-14s and includes a soft drink and popcorn. Advanced booking is not necessary.

British singing sensation Leona Lewis, winner of UK TV’s The X-Factor will open the 23rd Bahrain International Music Festival at the National Theatre on October 9.
