Ferrari unveiled its stunning new California T during an exclusive evening event at the Bahrain National Museum with a selection of the ‘prancing horses’ mean machines from across the decades proudly on display.
Prominent members of the Al Zayani family took to the stage to introduce the new model, which has impressively cut fuel consumption and CO2 emissions despite 70cv more power and a 49 per cent increase in torque.
This year’s theme: 2014 Year of Arts initiative launched by the Bahrain Ministry of Culture presented a perfect opportunity for Ferrari to unveil the California T in unique style at the Bahrain National Museum.
The event also featured a classy flash mob-inspired dance act who lead the crowd away from the giant projector screens inside to the gleaming new model parked outside.
With its Formula One- inspired turbo-charged engine, the new model reinforces the quality of the aspirated Ferrari engines, while delivering the same sound, progressive torque and a staggering 560bhp. This allows it to make the sprint from 0-100kmph in just 3.6 seconds.
The California T maintains a sense of continuity with the past, but has been completely redrawn to present a more harmonious, contemporary style, its makers say.
The California T, below, is powered by a direct-injection 3885ccV8 turbo engine that punches out 560cv at 7,500rpm, yielding a specific power output of 145 cv/l, the highest in its category.
