VIVA has come on board as the title sponsor of the Royal Golf Club’s popular Monday Madness Night Golf Series for the remainder of 2014.
Abdul Rahman Al Amar and playing partner Abdul Aziz Ahmed narrowly won first prize in the opening match of the first six-week long series with a score of 26 points on count back.
The duo of Sam Jong Kim and John House were a very close second, also with 26 points while Todd Gillespie and Graeme Newport came third. Gillespie won an additional prize for coming closest to the pin on the 12th hole and Rob Lane was closest on hole 16.
The winners all received gift vouchers courtesy of VIVA while the overall order of merit winners at the end of the series will each receive a Samsung Galaxy S5 as their prize. The series runners-up will be presented with iPhone 5s while the pairing coming third will both receive a Huaewei Ascend P7.
Around 40 golfers competed in the first competition of the series, which was rounded off with a prize presentation ceremony in the Club’s Members’ Lounge.
The VIVA Monday Madness Night Golf Series takes place at the Royal Golf Club every Monday evening. The 9 hole competitions are open to non-members at a cost of BD20 per night and tee off with a 6.30pm shotgun start.
