Golf is one of those unique sports where players of all abilities can play a fair game due to the handicap system and different colour tee markers that indicate your starting point on a hole.
Here are a few guidelines to ensure that you tee off according to the rules:
* Players must play their first shot from the teeing ground, referred to as the tee box.
* The ball can be played from anywhere between the two tee markers and not in front of the line between the two markers, up to a maximum of two club lengths back.
* A player may stand outside of the imaginary box, providing the ball is inside the area.
* If you accidentally knock the ball off the tee whilst addressing the ball you may re-tee without penalty. If you attempt to make a stroke and the ball falls off the tee, this is considered as a shot and the next stroke has to be played from where the ball lies.
