’TIS the season to be jolly … unless your house almost burns down. On Christmas day, a friend of the Whisperer spent hours in the kitchen preparing a massive meal for guests to enjoy.
She and her husband made sure that everything was taken care of from food to presents and even played music videos in the background to ensure guests were put in a merry mood.
They even pulled out a shisha for smokers to share in the living room but not without placing an old rug underneath to protect their brand new hardwood floor. In the midst of the festivities, one friend accidentally spilled charcoal all over the rug.
A group rallied together to save the day, leaving behind a couple of burn marks the friendly hosts were not bothered about. After a few minutes, there was a burning smell and the host jumped into action when she saw a big piece of charcoal had made its way onto the hardwood.
Without thinking she grabbed it with her fingers and threw it onto the rug nearby. Though she burnt her fingers, she applied aloe vera and soon they were good as new. Now a lovely black mark will always remind them of the special evening they hosted Christmas Day dinner for the first time.
