Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation held the Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa Show Jumping Championship on Saturday, sponsored by Abdul Kareem Al Jahromi Contracting Co, who also gave away spot prizes for spectators.

These shows have become popular family events, with entertainment for the children, including a bouncy castle, coupled with tack stalls for spectators and riders alike, alongside juice bars, coffee shops and shawarma stands providing a festival atmosphere.

The BDF stadium has a brilliant new look with a fabulous covered stage for the 6th National Arabian Horse Show which opened yesterday and continues today, sponsored by Al Rashidia Stables.

There were the usual two classes for juniors, followed by another four for adults, culminating in a Grand Prix.

Taking top slots were the talented Mayoof Al Rumaihi riding Granus, in the first class, while Kate Addison rode an excellent winning round on The Chief in class two. In the adult classes, Basel Al Dossari took top position with Dilmun Manny, Sadiq Abbas certainly set the pace with Well Kept Secrets to win the Accumulator class, the penultimate One Round Against the Clock class once again saw Basel Al Dossari on the podium taking the winner’s trophy, this time riding Dilmun Dory.

The final Grand Prix class hosted 12 imposing fences and Sami Ghazwan rode an impressive round steering the talented Fairooz spectacularly around the course to clinch first place.

The next show jumping event will be held on February 28.
