Bahraini Nasser Yacoob narrowly clinched first place on countback in the men’s gross division of the DHL February Order of Merit competition at the Royal Golf Club with a score of 73.
Abdulla Al Hakam took the runners-up spot, also with a gross score of 73 and Hamad Mubarak was third with gross 76.
A countback was also needed to separate the top three competitors in the men’s nett division of the tournament after all three players achieved a score of 73 nett. Arun Varma was awarded first place on countback, Andrew Love was second and Abdulla Al Hakam third.
In the ladies competition Sara Thompson, Hanne Hansen and Dagrid Berge won first, second and third places respectively in both the gross and nett divisions while promising youngster Taimur Malik won the juniors’ nett category with a score of 78 and Steward Hutchinson was runner-up with 86 nett.
