Hair is of vital importance to us women. Bad hair days are the bane of our existence, and are a setup for worse: lipstick on teeth, spilling coffee on your shirt and losing your keys. It’s the snowball effect of doom.
On the other hand, good hair days come once in a blue moon, and are cherished as such. You simply float above normal people, doors are magically opened, and you probably smell wonderful.
Similarly, changing your hair is a big decision. It may seem superficial, but it really is important. Coco Chanel once said that ‘a woman who cuts her hair is about to change her life’ and I honestly believe in that.
It’s so easy to get caught in a rut, doing the same tasks over and over again until they lose meaning; until you don’t notice the days slipping by. Cutting your hair is a conscious decision to make a change, starting with how you perceive the world and how the world perceives you.
It’s not vanity; it’s you choosing to take control of how you feel about yourself. It’s subtle, but powerful.
